Arts Facilitation

Working with Nature

Recently, I have undertaken arts facilitation work that centres creativity, wellbeing, and connection to nature. During 2024–25, I supported a Creative Nature Men’s Group with CreativeShift — a relaxed and friendly programme offering men-only outdoor workshops focused on creativity, mindfulness, and shared experience. These sessions encouraged participants to take a break from everyday pressures, explore their relationship with nature, and support wellbeing through simple creative activities, conversation, and time spent together in a community garden setting.

Alongside this, I have facilitated one-to-one and small group photographic walks with a philosophical grounding, inviting participants to slow down, contemplate and connect with their surroundings. Viewing the world though a lens can open the mind to opportunities. These walks are held as safe, reflective spaces, where conversation can unfold naturally, and I have, in some cases, taken on a mentoring role.

I have also led small workshop groups using a range of creative processes to support deeper connection with nature and attention to the micro-details of life. These include sketching, mark-making and journaling, bookmaking, and Gelli printing, offering gentle, accessible ways for people to observe, reflect, and engage creatively.
